Speaker from the Church Urban Fund

Church Urban Fund LogoOn Christmas Day in Kensington, over 2000 people came to a free Christmas lunch put on by the local Anglican church for the poor, lonely and homeless.

Poverty is becoming an enormous issue in our cities, and if that is the need in Kensington, imagine what it is like in some other places! The Christian faith always has demanded a real concern for the poor, and so our churches have long supported the Church Urban Fund, which was set up as the Church of England's response to poverty in this country.

The CUF works in partnership with Christians who feel called to put their faith into action. It has a vision for every church, in every community, tackling poverty together by giving time, money, action and prayer. It aims to increase the passion within the Church for the poor and marginalised in this country and to make the Church's response more effective. The CUF supports over 300 church and Christian projects tackling poverty.

On Sunday 12th February, Kerry McMenamin, a representative from CUF will be speaking to us at the 10.30am service at St Katharine's Church, Knockholt. Come along to hear about this vital work.
