Youth Leader Opportunity

Are you looking for a rewarding job working with young people?

Do you think your energy and enthusiasm could extend to coordinating the Children and Youth Work within our parishes here in Knockholt, Halstead and Badgers Mount? Then this is your opportunity to get involved!

We are currently seeking a new person to chair the Youth Work Committee. If you are interested in joining our team of youth leaders here in Sevenoaks, please get in touch with the Rector. More details on our work with young people can be found elsewhere on the site.

If you are interested in getting involved but on a slightly less time-consuming level, then perhaps you could consider becoming one of our regular Youth Leaders. We are particularly keen to expand our Sunday morning Pathfinder groups, although any time you can commit anywhere across our programme would be appreciated. Again, enquiries to the Rector.

Do pass this message on to anyone who may also be interested.

Congratulations are in order!

Two of the young men in our Church Youth Club have made great achievements recently...

Jack Heasman has won a place at Maidstone United Football Academy - we wish him every success in this opening into this national sport, which, of course, he is passionate about. Similarly, Matt Roberts has always had a way with words. Matt has won the Regional Finals of the "Speak Out" public speaking competition and will be representing the London Borough of Bromley in the National Finals at the Queen Elizabeth Hall this summer. Congratulations to then both!

The Rector is Away

I am afraid that I will be off on sick leave for 5 to 6 weeks from the last week of April, after an operation. All the services will be covered... a welcome chance to hear someone else's voice! You can still use the online enquiry service for any queries about baptisms, weddings or funerals during this time. If you have any general service questions please contact Pamela Holmes on 533238 for Knockholt, or Margaret May on 532042 for Halstead and Badgers Mount. Thank you for all your kind support and prayers.

Inspiring Talk about the Church Urban Fund

Kerry McMenamin, from the Church Urban Fund, told us of the extraordinary work of Churches in the inner cities of our land on 12th February at our Family Communion Service. Many felt that they wanted to support this life changing work by taking a "Loose Change Box". More boxes are available in St Katharine's Church, Knockholt and Pat Benson has offered to be our local Loose Change Coordinator, to receive your box when full. Every £1 we give is matched by £8 of additional funding. More details of CUF's work can be found on www.cuf.org.uk.

New Piano for St Margaret's

An excellent modern upright piano has kindly been donated to St Margaret's Church, Halstead courtesy of a local villager, which we desperately needed!

Our other piano has gone to a good home in our local village hall, where it has been gratefully received and will be put to good use especially by The Halstead Players. Our new piano is approximately 70 years old and as such is in very good condition, and having been retuned, is now fully ready to play by Brian Shilling, Clare Pollard, Jack Bennett and our other wonderful dedicated musical geniuses at our church!
